The Highlight Zone is a special information section reserved for our students. We will share information about a selected student and how they have benefited from being apart of Unity Performing Arts Foundation. Our purpose for the Highlight Zone is to expose the community to what our students are doing to add value to their personal lives, their families, and the communities they live in. Our goal is to make them feel very special to be a member of the World Champion Voices of Unity Youth Choir.

Unity Performing Arts Foundation (UPAF) Empowers Snider High School Senior, Jasmine Miller, to Emerge As The Quintessential “Triple Threat” UPAF has helped Jasmine Miller develop the key leadership skills, drive, determination, and discipline it takes to be the "triple threat" our community and society so desperately need from our youth. At 18 years old, Jasmine is a triple threat because she shines in the classroom, excels as a competitive track athlete, and has proven to be a strong vocal performer with tremendous stage presence as a member of UPAF’s Voices of Unity Youth Choir. Jasmine is a Leader and Academic Super Star: Jasmine is a Senior at R. Nelson Snider High School. She is currently the President of the VIP Club, Vice President of the African- American Club, a Stay In Bounds Ambassador, as well as a member of her school chamber advanced choir – Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Upon graduating, Jasmine plans to attend a four year university majoring in psychology or business and then head to grad school, preferably Stanford, to pursue her lifelong goal of becoming an attorney. Jasmine has already been accepted on academic scholarship to Eastern Michigan and Bowling Green State University. She is driven to succeed and equipped to accomplish all of her goals on whatever college campus she decides to attend. |

Jasmine is a Track Star: Jasmine is a part of Snider's track and field team where she has been a Varsity runner/hurdler for four years. During Jasmine's Freshman year, she competed in sectionals. Jasmine advanced to regionals as a Sophomore and state as a Junior. Jasmine recently competed at Indiana University, Bloomington, and placed 14th in the State of Indiana for the 300 meter hurdles. Jasmine is never satisfied and continues to strive for higher and bigger goals. Anything that Jasmine accomplishes, and every track meet in which she competes, she thinks to herself, "I can, I know I can, so I will." . . . A personal motto she has learned by being in UPAF’s Voices of Unity Youth Choir.
Voices of Unity Performer and Leader: Jasmine has been a member of the Voices of Unity Youth Choir and a part of UPAF for six years. The first time Jasmine saw the Voices of Unity perform was the summer of the choir's "Rhythm Nation" concert which was introduced to Jasmine by her grandmother. When Jasmine joined the choir, she was so excited because she was able to be a part of the choir and program she sat and watched in total aw during the "Rhythm Nation" concert.
All members of the choir, including Jasmine, gain confidence, poise and discipline on and off the stage. Jasmine, as a Senior, and a leader in the choir, understands what it means to make formal presentations, sing solos, and stand in front of others to empower and encourage. Jasmine is a true product of UPAF and a shining example of our community's youth that strives daily to be the best they can be!
